The 2003-2004 Season

The Howell I team ended the JSJWL season undefeated at 17-0, and were 30-0 including the tournament wins of the Predator traveling team.  The Howell II team worked hard all season as well, coming away with a record of 4-11.

The season started with a 1st place win at the 12/6 Danbury Team Duals Tournament.  On 12/13 the Predator I Team beat both Hazlet and Old Bridge to pick up where things left off last season.  On 12/14 the Predators took first place at the Robbinsville Tournament to close out a very successful first 2 weeks of wrestling.

The third week started off with two more Howell I wins against BYAA I and II on 12/20, along with a Howell II win against BYAA II.   The  Predator traveling team then went off to represent Howell on 12/21 at the Hopatcong Tournament, where they took first place.   The Predators then took a well deserved Holiday Break.

The season picked up in January where it left off with 2 critical and decisive wins against Tinton Falls and Ocean on 1/10/04, bringing the Team I JSJWL record to 6-0.  In addition, a hard earned win by the Howell II team against Ocean brought their JSJWL record to 2-4.

On 1/17/04, the Predators traveled to Matawan to compete against the Long Branch and Matawan teams.  Team I was able to secure two more wins, bringing their JSJWL record to 8-0.  Team 2 secured another win as well, bringing their record to 3-5.

On 1/18/04 the Predator Wrestling Club had an excellent showing at the Lacey Individual Tournament.  The Predators came in force and showed excellent club spirit, with over 85 wrestlers coming to represent the organization.  Congratulations to all that competed, and especially to the 42 Howell Predator wrestlers who placed and came away with trophies.  You can see the final standings by clicking HERE.

On 1/24/04, the fun continued with 2 more Team I wins against tough Shore and Wall squads, and team II getting another win against Shore.  On 1/25/04 the Predator Traveling team went to Annapolis Maryland to battle the Junior Navy I and II teams, as well as the Chesapeake team from Pasadena, MD.  The Predators won all three matches, taking their record to an amazing 23-0 for the season so far.

On 2/7/04, the Predator's metal was tested by two of their fiercest rivals, Toms River and Jackson.  The Predators prevailed in the end, but it took everything they had to retain their undefeated status at 12-0 for the JSJWL and 25-0 for the season overall.

On 2/14/04, the Predators went to Brick to battle another of their JSJWL rivals.  This was to be the last major test of the regular season, with Brick being the last A division team to stand between the Predators and an undefeated regular season.  The Howell I team beat both Brick I and II squads, bringing their record to 14-0.

The regular season ended with a friendly match between Howell I and Howell II, where Howell I took the win.  The team then focused on preparing for the individual and team JSJWL championship tournaments.

On 1/22/04, The Predators took first place as a team at the JSJWL Individual Tournament by a wide margin.  Congratulations to those that placed for their individual weight classes, and to all the Predators that competed.  Click this link for the detailed results of the tournament.

On 2/28/04, the Predators hosted the JSJWL Championship Tournament.  The BYAA, Brick, and Toms River teams squared off for league honors.  It was an incredible battle with a heart stopping finish.  When the dust settled, the Howell Predators were the last team standing.  They took the gold and finished the season at 30-0.
