Lake Hopatcong Classic

The 2001 Lake Hopatcong Team Dual Tournament on December 16 proved to be as competitive and exciting as previous years. This is a high level invitational showcasing many top wrestling programs in New Jersey. Sixteen teams competed including a team from Salem, NH. Our Howell Predator wrestlers competed with heart and determination, wrestling the team to a third place finish. Our first match was against a strong Lenape Valley program. We handled the strength of their lineup and won the match. Our second match was against a good Hanover Park squad. Again, our kids wrestled very well and won. In the semi finals we were matched against a very strong Highpoint A team. Our kids wrestled well but were outpointed in the end. The consolations were a rematch of last years finals--Howell vs Walkill Valley. This year the outcome was different. Our Howell Predators wrestled great and won the match. The Howell Predator Coaching Staff is proud of every Howell child that wrestled in the Tournament. The kids met the challenges placed in front of them and walked away with a respectable finish.
